Magdalena Plotczyk has spent 6 years in biomedical research before transitioning to venture capital.
She has earned her BSc in Biomedical Sciences and MSc in Regenerative Medicine from University College London and a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Imperial College London.
Driven by curiosity and interest in the ways technology drives advances in healthcare and life sciences, she previously worked at the technology transfer and investment office of Imperial College and the Medical Device unit of the WHO. Before joining MTIP, Magdalena has gained experience in digital health during an investment fellowship at an early-stage VC fund, Heal Capital.
What motivates you?
I am motivated by the opportunity to impact and improve the lives of millions of others, especially when it comes to their health and wellbeing. With my daily work, I want to support bold ideas and most innovative technologies and empower like-minded founders who share the vision to revolutionize healthcare as we know it.
What brought you to this job?
Growing up, I enjoyed discussions with my mum who happily shared her experiences as a medical doctor, patiently explaining the inner workings and intricacies of healthcare systems. She was the one who inspired me to build a career around understanding, building, and improving healthcare. I truly believe that MTIP is a great place to continue this professional journey.

My Kindle. I would never leave the house without the eBook – you never know when your train gets delayed or a friend comes late to the meeting. Reading is my way to de-stress and relax and I am always open to book recommendations, my Goodreads list counts 400+ books and it keeps expanding!
