Teresa Pla Prats is a healthcare investor with a strong background in deal advisory, commercial due diligence, and strategic consulting across the healthcare ecosystem. Before joining MTIP, Teresa was a Senior Associate at Candesic, where she led buy-side and sell-side commercial due diligence and M&A advisory projects for private equity and corporate clients across pharma, biotech, CRO, CDMO, and healthcare services. She began her career at Dolon and Putnam Associates, advising top global pharmaceutical companies on pipeline strategy, business development, and forecasting. Teresa holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the Complutense University of Madrid, graduating with distinction, and has passed CFA Level I. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and French.
What trends will most likely influence Healthcare?
The aging population and the rising prevalence of chronic diseases will continue to reshape healthcare. Scientific progress has allowed us to extend life, but not always healthy life, and societies have yet to design sustainable systems that match this new reality.
How important is communication?
Essential. Even the best analysis means little if you can’t make others see its relevance and act on it.
What is your favorite read?
“Thinking, Fast and Slow” by Daniel Kahneman is a favorite. I love that a psychologist won the Nobel Prize in Economics for showing just how irrational yet predictably human our decisions are. I also enjoyed “The Selfish Gene” by Richard Dawkins, which flips our view of human behavior by suggesting that our genes use us as vehicles for their survival. Both books transform how you think about why people act the way they do.
